Allied Stone’s long-running relationship with Stål Timber began with our need for ingenious steel supports for our full-scale stone slab displays and lighter stone sample carousels. We discovered in Stål a company that fully engaged with us, problem solved, and delivered a system that we’ve now incorporated at all of our five major showrooms in Texas and Oklahoma.

As our confidence in their abilities and deliverables grew, Stål has become a key partner in complementing their varying wood species and steel with our stone, to create handsome custom projects for our discerning clients. 

The key takeaway in working with Stål Timber is the high level of communication access and transparency with Josh Marten, the owner. He brings strong elements of design, engineering prowess, clarity, curiosity, and keen problem-solving skills. We’ve never had a design vision end in engineering defeat. 

I’ve also challenged and engaged Stål Timber on two personal residential projects. One following in the footsteps of our showroom’s library-style shelving system with a rolling ladder, with the marked difference of it now being 20’ tall and spanning two stories. And the other project being an outdoor four-seater custom swing set under a slatted pergola frame.  As with all his projects, Josh delivered a service and design/built that I’m proud to showcase.
